In Matthew 6, Jesus bids us to share secret times with the Lord: giving in secret, praying in secret, & fasting in secret. When we share these moments of secret with God alone, we grow closer to Him.
Some secret moments are joyful - when we give an anonymous gift, or when we praise the Lord in the quiet of our own hearts - and sharing secret joys with the Savior can be fun! Have you ever thought, "oh! They are going to FLIP..."

Lisha, I am a new reader who stumbled over your blog as I was chasing a rabbit hole on some other errand. I am so glad I did! I really appreciate your ability to be vulnerable and authentic in your walk with God and in your daily life. I leave encouraged and thoughtful, after having read your posts. I think it is beautiful, the humble and honest way that you follow God and are obedient to Him in the way that He is calling you, through the highs and lows of life. This post especially was quite timely for me and though I am shy and probably will not often comment, I wanted to let you know how much I appreciate the way you share your walk with God and what a positive impact it has on mine.
ReplyDeleteThis brought sweet tears to my eyes - thank you being bold enough to take the time to build up a sister. The Lord is doing beautiful things! <3 I am praying that He will continue to strengthen your heart through His Word and His love for you!
DeleteThank you, again!

Heading there now to check it out!
ReplyDeleteI hope it's a blessing <3 Thank you!
DeleteI read the entire post, and it was a blessing to me. The Lord has been teaching me this lately, and I'm rather slow in learning this lesson, but hopefully one day I will remember to turn to the Lord first rather than to anyone else. What amazes me is why it is hard at all. It shouldn't be...
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lauren! I've been learning this lesson over and over for yeeeearsssss and I imagine it will continue in part for a lifetime :) We stiff-necked humans just don't seem to get it! And you're right, after we've come to know the living God it shouldn't be hard to want to drop everything and run to Him first when we are having a hard time!
DeleteI'm so thankful you're here! :)
