What we're reading now!

My post A Current Reading List {September} - was such an unexpected hit with you that I thought maybe you'd still be interested in what we're digging in to right now.

The big girls (for school and/or free time reading)
Leading Little Ones to God by Marian Schoolland
From Akebu to Zapotec: A Book of Bibleless Peoples by June Hathersmith
George Muller: The Guardian of Bristol's Orphans by Geoff & Janet Benge
A Big Ball of String by Marion Holland
Detectives in Togas by Henry Winterfield
Roman Diary by Richard Platt & David Parkins
A Child's History of the World by Virgil M. Hillyer (outstanding history resource for younger children!)
Usborne Time Traveler*
Book of World History by Jenny Tyler & Anne Millard
Favorite Poems from Childhood by various poets (Dickinson, Stevenson, Tennyson, etc)
King Arthur and His Knights by Elizabeth Merchant
The Case of the Gasping Garbage by Michele Torrey
DK's Space
DK's See How It's Made
Usborne's Book of Science Activities, Volume 1*
[for many of these books, we read a few pages a day 2-3 times per week - we're not reading all of these every day!]

With Hannah:
101 Favorite Stories from the Bible by Ura Miller
Eloise Wilkin Stories by Eloise Wilkin
The Usborne Flip-Flap Body Book* by Alastair Smith & Judy Tatchell
The Harper Collins Treasury of Picture Book Classics by various authors
Mike Mulligan & More - a Virginia Lee Burton Treasury
[we read a couple stories a day from this selection]

[Note: books with an * are linked to my Usborne Books & More consultant site. You are under no obligation to order any of these titles, but if you order books through there, I do receive a commission, and am grateful! None of the other links are affliate links of any kind.]

What I'm working on:

Insights into Bible Times & Customs by G. Christian Weiss
Hinds' Feet on High Places by Hannah Hurnard
52 Simple Ways to Teach Your Child to Pray by Roberta Hromas
A Blaze of Glory by Jeff Shaara
The Self-Sufficient Life and How to Live It by John Seymour
Mommy Diagnostics by Shonda Parker
{I make it a goal to read 2-3 pages each day from as many of the books as I can...!}

Will is currently reading:
Perelandra, and
That Hideous Strength, both by CS Lewis
{Will reads through books much faster than I do, so he's only usually reading 1 or 2 at a time!}

What are you reading these days?

Thankful for the written word,
for His glory!
~Lisha

    1. Gabby, my girls are 7, 6, & 3. Most of the books on the girls' lists come right from the Sonlight Curriculum core books (Core B [grade 1] for my big girls and P3/4 for Hannah]. This is our 5th year of using Sonlight for homeschooling and it's a perfect fit for our family! :)

      Thanks for stopping by! :D

    1. I'd never read it before, but I can see where it would become a once-a-year book - it's phenomenal!!

Thank you for stopping by! :)
