Thankful November: Day 1!

Five years ago, I began posting a simple, daily status update during November with things that I was thankful for. And there was a sweet response from many of my Facebook friends! It's become a tradition, and this is the first year I'll be a) blogging more about it, and b) inviting you all to join in!

Here are some verses that come to mind when I think about making a habit of being thankful:

Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus! [1 Thessalonians 5:18]

Oh! Give thanks to the Lord,
call upon His name;
make known His deeds
among the peoples!
[Psalm 105:1]

Every good and perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, in whom there is no variation or shadow of turning!! [James 1:17]

{There are many more! I'd love it if you share your favorite "thankful" verses, too!}

Today, I'm thankful for:

Jesus, and His unfathomable patience with me, a sinner! The whole idea of the marriage covenant - how beautiful. The radiant warmth of the pellet stove on chilly fall evenings. Singing praise songs with my daughters after breakfast. The times when Will makes the bed or puts away clean clothes. Having a washer & dryer in the kitchen. Piping hot tea in my favorite mug, cozied under handmade quilts with giggly little girls. God supplying all our needs - in ordinary and extraordinary ways. My Beautiful You ladies - all of them. Dear friendships that can pick right up where we left off, even if it's been a while.
